About
Dr Britta Dedekind is a General Surgeon with a special interest in Breast Cancer Surgery. She completed her medical degree at the University of Cape Town and then went on to specialise as a General Surgeon.
In addition to breast cancer, she also treats benign breast conditions and thyroid disease. She practises as General Surgery Consultant at Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital in Cape Town. Dr Dedekind works closely with a range of specialists to provide comprehensive care for her patients. She also runs a weekly multidisciplinary team meeting at Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital, where all breast cancer patients are discussed.
Dr Dedekind has completed fellowships in Breast and Endocrine Surgery as well as Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery at Groote Schuur Hospital.
Since qualifying as a General Surgeon she has remained closely involved with the University of Cape Town’s Department of Surgery. Until recently she ran the breast clinic at Mitchell's Plain Hospital.
